FKM stands for fluororubber and complies with DIN ISO 1629 and ASTM D1418 standards. All types of fluororubber contain vinylidene fluoride (VDF) as one of its monomers. Fluorine rubber is heat-resistant and resistant to chemical corrosion, and its quality is higher than that of fluorobutadiene rubber or nitrile rubber, so it is also more expensive. Fluororubber has a higher chemical impedance, so compared to DPEM membranes, FKM membranes have a wider range of applications.
Characteristic
FKM membrane is resistant to various solvents and chemicals. For example: hydrocarbon fatty acids, aromatics and chlorides, acid solutions containing oxidants, and alkaline solutions. Not suitable for ether and alkaline solutions. Therefore, although we do not recommend it for steam sterilization, FKM membranes are still particularly suitable for water treatment.
Temperature range
Continuous operation from 0°C to+130°C
